Trip to Miyama forest
Today, Mr. President Ishikawa took me to the Miyama forest, where the company plants trees and preserve the forest as part of Kyoto Modern Forest program. The company has participated in this program for 9 years and they continue to do this until now. I was told that the company has planted 600 trees here, which surprised me. The company really gave many efforts to protect the environment which should be very respected. Nevertheless, I was so lucky to come there at the time the chestnut tree fruiting. I collected many fresh chestnuts with helps from Ishikawa-san. Then, my achievement today is a bag full of chestnuts. We also visited Miyama museum and village with a spectacular view of soba flower fields, many traditional thatch roof houses, a small purely clean river and beautiful mountains behind.
I am so happy now because I truly experience the life in a rural area of Japan.
